THE OFFICE OF THE PROPHET AND THE GIFT OF PROPHECY ARE NOT THE SAME!
ARE YOU CALLED AS A PROPHET OR DO HAVE THE GIFT OF PROPHECY?
JOIN ME TODAY AS WE DISCOVER TOGETHER, THE AUTHENTIC GIFT OF PROPHECY & THE MANTLE OF THE PROPHET.
The office of the Prophet functions fully in the prophetic. This is a very powerful mantle. We are to desire spiritual gifts and not be ignorant of them (1 Corinthians 12:1,31). We are also exhorted to accept prophesying and prophecy as part of our lives (1 Thessalonians 5:20).
Prophecy is to hear what God says, to see what He is revealing to you and only proclaim what you see and hear. Therefore, to prophesy comes with 'obedience to the Word.' That is the visible and identifying mark of the prophet. They will only speak what God says to them, no more or no less than that.
Let's look at some more significant traits of a prophet:
1. The word they prophesy comes to pass.
2. The dream or vision they see comes to pass.
3. They fear God, always desire to walk in the Spirit, in the ways of Christ.
4. They commit their time to Serving God. They are humble and willing to learn and grow.
5. The 'Office of the Prophet' can prophesy both good and evil. The gift of prophecy usually prophesies good, but the Spirit can still lead them to rebuke, correct and inspire through prophecy, word of knowledge and word of wisdom.Â
The office/mantle of the Prophet can prophesy both good and evil.
6. They don't prophecy because others want a word. No! They wait for the Word to come and rest on them. Only when the word rests, do they speak. So if you are a prophet, please, don't let Itching ears cause you to prophecy a lie. Don't be forced into making up a word. Say only what God wants you to say and that's it.
THE GIFT OF PROPHECY is given to the body of Christ. Prophecy in essence is our Kingdom Culture. It is the way we live with God as believers.
Prophecy is evidence of our communication with the Divine
Prophecy is spirit material, manifested as substance that carries weight to change or shift our natural realm to align with the will of the Spirit of the Lord.
Prophesying does not make you holy. It's the Word of God in you that makes you holy. We are cleansed by the Words that the Spirit speaks to us (John 15:3). For the Words of the Lord are Spirit and Life (John 6:63)

QUESTION
Does prophesying mean you are going to heaven?
Matthew 7:21-23
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Revelation 2 - 3:
Let them that have ears hear what the Spirit is saying to the Churches
(Christ was talking about the sins and errors in the seven Churches and how if they did not repent from their sins, there would be consequences.)
BALAAM prophesied but he didn't remain in the conviction of God Who made him bless Israel. Yet Balaam continued in his sin.
So, if we have been chosen to hear and speak the Word, Let's not only speak the Word but live by the AUTHORITY, GUIDANCE OF THE WORD.
Even prophets are not perfect. They must choose to die to themselves daily and they must still uphold the way of Christ.

QUESTION
What if you prophesy and the word doesn't come to pass?
This can happen, when we try to interpret the word with our own desires controlling us. We are manipulated by fleshly intentions to create what is a fake word and make it sound like the real thing.
And if the word is clear, don't force a due date on it. Just let it happen as it was spoken. Unless the Lord has told you the the actual days or timeline. Even then, just believe and let God do the rest.
In the same line of thought, when it comes to interpretation of the Word, If the Spirit gave a Word, let the Spirit also give the interpretation of the Word.
2. If prophecy you gave doesn't come to pass, don't Prophesy publicly anymore, but go to your prayer closet and be trained by the Spirit of God. Let the Lord train you quietly, so you can be confident in Him, and walk in the Authentic Spirit of Prophecy--Publicly.
AUTHENTICITY & TRUENESS IS GROUNDED AND PERFECTED IN THE CLOSET BEFORE IT IS REVEALED OPENLY
JESUS SAID (Matthew 6:6)Â But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
PRAYER AND PROPHECY ARE CONNECTED TOGETHER. SO IF YOU WANT TO BE EFFECTIVELY USED BY GOD, BUILD A RELATIONSHIP WITH THE ONE WHO HOLDS THE WORD AND AUTHORS THE WORD.
Jude 1:20-25
But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
Matthew 4:4Â
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
YOU HAVE TO FIRST BE WILLING TO BE EDIFIED SO YOU CAN EDIFY THROUGH THE SPIRIT.
YOU HAVE TO BE GROUNDED, SO YOU CAN HELP OTHERS BE GROUNDED.
1 Corinthians 14:1-4
Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy.
For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.
But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort.
He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.
My last point is, don't strive to be a prophet or be recognised as one. NO. Rather strive to be a vessel of Christ's Word - Strive to be a Witness for God:
A witness walks and talks, lives and breathes, the Testimony of Christ.
They go beyond talking, they become the vessels that demonstrate Christ on earth, The Love of God and working of the Holy Spirit work mightily in their lives because they have a relationship with God - Father, Son and the Holy Spirit.
Paul said it this way in two passages
1 Corinthians 2:1, 3-5Â
And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling. And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
Philippians 3:7-14Â
But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.
Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
