I WILL REPHRASE THE QUESTION AS THE PURPOSE AND PRINCIPLE OF THE TITHE
Sharing from my experience.
I believe we meet God in our OBEDIENCE to Him, and in SERVING HIS PURPOSE. We meet God with a heart that wants to serve and do His Will.
Will the Lord bless, and will He increase His blessing? Yes.
The PRINCIPLE OF TITHE is for God's Economy. And as God's people, we live in His Economy. The tithe belongs to God and is Holy. Therefore the use of it, is what He would require, rather than we would think it should be.
If we say we believe the unseen God, who is real. Then we believe He is and has always been. Our giving therefore is spiritual. We are giving what is spiritual in our worship posture. We take what is material, and with it, the evidence of our hearts posture and offer it as worship unto the Lord.
The Lord who sees this knows our hearts. What about the ministers who receive the tithe on behalf of God? They are to honour God by using it for the work of the ministry.
Administrative governance to build God's Kingdom on Earth, or in a community, is to demonstrate spiritual influence and authority over that community.
An effective Church is an equipped Church. Not just on a spiritual front, but on a governing front.
Satan and his demons control territories by drug money, money laundering, smuggling etc. They have influence over cities through monetary transactions. If this is the case for the dark side, then we as a Church must also be equipped to win the battle over the enemy. We must be equipped both spiritually and through financial administration to take over regions for the Kingdom.
Say for example, the Mayor of a city, who is in power takes money and builds an idol unto some god, which we know is really a demon. We know they are bringing a curse upon the land and therefore giving access to demons to control that city.
We can pray that Mayor out but if we don't have a Gideon who pulls down that idol, how can we truly be free from that curse.
Now let's change the scenario and say the Mayor is Christian and wants to support the building project for multiple Churches in the City. He picks Churches and locations for worship Centres to glorify God. Then he goes out to those places where those Church buildings are needed and builds them.
That Mayor has clearly brought a great tithe to the spiritual storehouse of God; meaning he has honoured God in his giving. On top of that because he wants God in the City, the city begins to experience growth and prosperity. It experiences less crime and begins to prosper.
So if you ask me why the tithe is important, I believe it really comes down to our hearts honouring God. Whether we are the ones giving or we are the ones receiving it on God's behalf, let us be good stewards of what He has given us. And let the Lord God be glorified in our giving to His Kingdom and the Work of His Kingdom, so that the gates of Hell will not prevail.
